Michael Lawrence was born in Los Angeles in 1943 and died in 2021, best known for his lyrical drawings and paintings celebrates the theater of life. The son of film star Marc Lawrence and screenwriter, poet and novelist Fanya Foss. His life’s pursuits were set as an artist and a writer.
Over the past fifty years the paintings and sculptures of Michael Lawrence have illuminated gallery shows in Los Angeles, New York, Palo Alto, Denver and in Europe : Rome, Madrid, Stockholm, Belfast, Hydra Island and sprinkled in collections in London, Austria, Australia, India, Singapore and elsewhere.
Enthusiastic collectors emerge from all levels of society. Queen Elizabeth II and filmmaker Oliver Stone join hundreds of people in gaining pleasure from Michael’s joyful celebrations.
