They are a couple in love who have been making street art since 2014:recycled cans painted with positive messages. They claim a better world with love and practice the ephemeral art- it is an eternal love.
Messages that draw in different types of cans and then available in the chosen location improvised. They put their work both day and night, always fast, discreetly, to maintain the independent and transgressive character of their work. In their unique found object work, they use all kinds of cans to give a new life to the old and used, painting them with brush, aerosol, pen and even fingers.
Since their beginnings, they have carried out more than 600 actions in the streets of Barcelona, Paris, London, Mallorca, Madrid, Girona and La Rioja.
We want to humanise the city, delight the hearts of passers-by and make spectators smile. Me Lata el Corazón is a play on words between the can (lata), its means of expression, and the heartbeat (verb), the living feeling, the inner strength.
“Some say we are activists, others that we are ambassadors, some define us as romantics or that we recycle creatively, there are even those who say we are artists! … We are simply two lovers of life, nothing more. Simply Jakuna Melata”
