Linda Partaj

AUSTRIA

Linda Partaj, born in 1992 in Lower Austria, is a visual artist specializing in painting and analog graphics. After completing her graduation in 2010, Linda spent some time in Bordeaux, France, broadening her artistic perspectives. Following her time abroad, she returned to Austria to pursue higher education at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.

Between 2012 and 2020, Linda studied ‘Art and Communications’ as well as ‘Architecture, Design, and Environment’ at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, earning her Diploma Degree in 2020. Concurrently, from 2015 to 2018, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where she trained in the ‘Figurative Painting’ class under the guidance of Kirsi Mikkola. Continuing her pursuit of artistic excellence, she began studying in the Painting class of Alastair Mackinven at the Academy of Fine Arts in 2023.

Linda Partaj’s art focuses on the remnants of memories and the sensitive states of mind associated with them. Her work delves into the process of confronting memories, exploring the desire to keep, share, and preserve them before they break into pieces. She creates a space for strong emotions, allowing them to be legitimized and experienced through her art.

In her paintings, the characters serve as projection screens for a range of experiences and emotions. The visual journey within her works alternates between abstract and detailed figurative elements. The viewer’s gaze is drawn to faces and figures that seem to drift in and out of focus, morphing from recognizable bodies into abstract forms and back again. This dynamic movement within her pieces mirrors the fluidity and transience of memory and human experience.

Linda’s work often reflects personal, autobiographical elements, capturing the complex interplay between emotionally perceived reality, real existence, and the transience of life. Her art attempts to capture the moment when reality shifts and undergoes a transformation, providing a unique perspective on this metamorphosis.

Living and working near Vienna, Linda Partaj continues to push the boundaries of traditional painting, exploring the emotional landscapes within her art and inviting viewers to engage with her unique interpretations of memory and the human condition.
